How it works

  1. Pick a group

Browse by topic, by time, or by how you're feeling today.

  2. Save your spot

Book your place in a session. When it starts, come in with your camera and mic on or off, whichever feels right.

  3. Share when you're ready

Most groups have a host, a peer with lived experience who keeps things safe and on track. Guided peer groups have no host: instead, the Heal Kinder guide welcomes everyone and offers talking points to get started.

Questions

What is Heal Kinder?

A free community where you can join small, live video support groups with people who have been through something similar.

Is this free group therapy?

It's free, and it's a group, but it's peer support rather than therapy, and that's its strength: hosts are peers with lived experience, not clinicians, so you're with people who truly understand. It doesn't replace therapy or medical care, but many members join groups while seeing a therapist or doctor, and find it makes the journey feel a lot less lonely.

Do I have to turn my camera on?

Usually not. You can join with your camera off and stay muted until you're ready, and many people listen for their first session or two. A few hosts ask for cameras on so the group can see each other; those groups are marked "Camera on".

Is it private?

Video and audio go directly between participants' browsers over encrypted WebRTC connections. Nothing is recorded. You choose the name others see (you're welcome to use your real name), and everyone agrees to keep what's shared in the room.

Is this crisis support?

No. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number (911 in the US, 999 in the UK). In the US, you can call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, any time. In the UK, you can call Samaritans on 116 123, any time.
